Japan’s Game Charts: Silent Hill f Lands at Number One
The latest software sales figures from Japan, covering September 22 to 28, saw a fresh face take the top spot.
Konami’s Silent Hill f debuted at number one on PS5, selling more than 57,000 copies in its first week. The long running survival horror series clearly still has a strong pull with Japanese players.
Nintendo’s Mario Kart World held firm at number two, continuing its remarkable run with cumulative sales now past 1.8 million. EA Sports FC 26 arrived at number three on PS5.
Koei Tecmo’s new Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist and the White Guardian made a notable showing, charting on both Switch and PS5, while familiar faces like Donkey Kong Bananza and Minecraft kept their place in the top ten.
My take: A brand new horror title outselling everything in its launch week is always a fun sight. It is also lovely to see the Atelier series doing well, since those games have such a gentle, cozy charm of their own.
