Japan Sends Warning to OpenAI over Sora 2 Making Anime

OpenAI’s text-to-video AI model Sora 2 can make wonders and create unbelievably believable videos, including anime. But we should not forget that AI generates stuff from the media it takes from humans – something OpenAI has been in court for several times now.

Well, Japan is not going to stand aside and watch its cultural gems being stolen. As reported by ITmedia, Minister of State for Intellectual Property Strategy Minoru Kiuchi said that the government had requested OpenAI “not to engage in actions that could constitute copyright infringement.”
