Hate Me, but Let Me Stay BL Manga Gets Anime Promo Video
Hijiki‘s Omegaverse Boys’ Love manga Hate Me, but Let Me Stay (Kiraide Isasete) has been brought to life in a 30-second promotional anime from the talented illustrator and animator RIRI Yamashita. who is no stranger to the realm of short-form animation.
The promo video highlights the main family of the story — omega Koga Naoto, his alpha husband Tsuchiya Hazuki, daughter Shizuku, and son Minato — with dazzling animation and strong post-processing work. Supporting character Kotaro Asanaga also pops up with a backdrop of blooming roses and falling petals.
This anime short was created to commemorated the Libre-published series’ circulation numbers, which exceeded 2.5 million. Aside from Yamashita (who is credited with animation production), the staff credits include tori as assistant animator and tori and hiroyoshi as background artists.
Hate Me, but Let Me Stay began in 2019 as Hijiki’s commercial debut. It has seven volumes as of July 2025, a spin-off titled Kiraide Isasete: Mane to Otoha, and an English release by Seven Seas Entertainment. The synopsis reads:
A Boys’ Love omegaverse manga where love blossoms even in the darkest of times.
Ever since the assault that led to his unexpected pregnancy as a teen, Koga Naoto, an omega, has harbored a deep fear and distrust toward alphas. He’s even convinced himself that he doesn’t need a mate. After all, hasn’t he raised his daughter, Shizuku, just fine on his own?
Still, at the behest of his concerned mother, Naoto reluctantly attends a matchmaking party. There he meets Tsuchiya Hazuki, a teenage alpha who declares that Naoto is his destined mate. Naoto does his best to ignore the young man’s advances, but he can’t deny the way he feels in Hazuki’s presence. Can Naoto overcome his fear and admit that maybe, just maybe, he might not hate this one alpha?
