Detective Conan Films Stream Free on YouTube This Month

TMS Entertainment announced on Bluesky this week that its Detective Conan: Cinema Saturdays campaign will stream three more films from the franchise. Each one airs on a Saturday at 10:00 p.m. EDT on the Anime! on TMS YouTube channel, beginning with The Bride of Halloween.

On top of the films, the company is also streaming the two and a half hour special episode Night of the Full Moon Dual Mystery on Wednesday. That same episode is currently available on Crunchyroll and Netflix in Japanese with subtitles and with an English dub.

The channel has been working through fan favorite films lately, having recently shown The Phantom of Baker Street, Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure, and The Crimson Love Letter.

It has been a busy stretch for the franchise overall. The long running anime, known in English as Case Closed, arrived on Crunchyroll and Netflix in July with a new English dub, and the most recent film made its US premiere at Anime Expo.

Gōshō Aoyama first launched the manga in Weekly Shounen Sunday in 1994, and the television anime has been running since 1996, with Viz Media publishing the manga in English.

My take: Free, official film streams are a wonderful way to dip into a franchise as enormous as Detective Conan. With its huge catalog, this is a friendly on ramp for curious newcomers and a treat for longtime fans alike.
