Demon Slayer Becomes 2025’s Top Comic Book Film
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has hit another remarkable milestone. According to Deadline and The Numbers, the first film in the Infinity Castle trilogy had earned an estimated 633 million US dollars worldwide as of early October.
That total makes it the highest grossing comic book film of the year, edging past Superman’s roughly 616 million dollars. It had already overtaken other major superhero releases like Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts earlier in its run.
The achievement also lifts the anime film to sixth place among all films of 2025 so far, after passing F1: The Movie.
The numbers are strong across individual markets too, with figures including around 124.6 million dollars in the United States and 17.4 million in Mexico.
Different trackers list slightly different worldwide totals, with some reporting an even higher figure, but every count points to the same story of a runaway global hit.
My take: Watching an anime film outearn major superhero blockbusters is genuinely a sign of the times. Demon Slayer keeps proving that anime can sit comfortably at the very top of the global box office.
