Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 Hits Netflix in 2027
Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 finally has a date, and the bad news is the wait. The series returns in October 2027 on Netflix, as confirmed at Anime Expo 2026 alongside the reveal of the first visual for the new season.
Worth the wait, probably
Ryoko Kui’s story about a party cooking their way through a dungeon to save their friend turned out to be one of the most complete fantasy adaptations of recent years. What starts as a food comedy quietly becomes a story about desire, obsession and what it costs to want something back from death. Studio Trigger treated the material with surprising restraint, and the result won over both manga readers and newcomers.
Season 2 heads into the manga’s heavier second half, where Laios and company face the consequences of eating their way to the dungeon’s heart. The first visual suggests the tone is shifting accordingly.
A full year and more of waiting stings, but Trigger taking its time beats a rushed production of the best material in the story.
The first season ran a full 24 episodes on Netflix and made the case that thoughtful pacing can survive on a binge platform. Ryoko Kui’s worldbuilding, where every monster has an ecology and every meal has a cost, rewards exactly the kind of attentive audience the show found. Season 2 inherits the story’s emotional core, and anyone who finished season one knows precisely which reunion the entire fanbase is bracing for.
The date and visual were reported by Anime Corner.
My take: Dungeon Meshi is the rare show where I trust the studio completely. October 2027 hurts, but rushed Trigger is worse than patient Trigger.
