Cinemark Reveals Its New Chainsaw Man Anime Popcorn Bucket Ahead of U.S. Reze Arc Movie Release
Chainsaw Man: The Movie: Reze Arc is rapidly approaching its North American theatrical release date. To help promote the film in the U.S., Cinemark has released an official popcorn bucket based on Chainsaw Man‘s lovable canine-like mascot, Pochita.
Cinemark, a theater company headquartered in Plano, Texas, recently unveiled the bucket on X (formerly Twitter). As shown below, it is modeled to resemble Pochita sitting upright on his haunches. Popcorn is stored in a small compartment accessible by opening a large panel on Pochita’s back. In addition to Cinemark, the bucket is reportedly also being distributed as a promotional item by AMC, another major U.S.-based theater company. As of Sept. 18, Cinemark has not released any pricing details.

Adapted from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s hit manga series, MAPPA’s Chainsaw Man anime was initially released in October 2022. The series’ upcoming cinematic entry is based on the manga’s fifth major story arc, “Bomb Girl.” Set in a world plagued with vicious monsters known as Devils, Chainsaw Man follows 16-year-old Denji, who starts out the series as a normal high school student. His life takes a sharp turn after meeting Pochita, a cute half-dog, half-devil being who is badly wounded. After Denji saves his life, Pochita returns the favor when Denji is brutally murdered by a group of thugs. Bonded by mutual sacrifice, Denji and Pochita merge to form a singular physical entity, with the latter literally taking the place of Denji’s heart.
Denji’s fusion with Pochita grants them the ability to transform into a half-man, half-weapon monstrosity capable of easily wiping out other Devils. Under the supervision of a mysterious woman named Makima, Denji begins a new life as a Devil Hunter alongside the stoic Aki Hayakawa and the eccentric Blood Devil, Power. In the “Bomb Girl” arc, Denji encounters a strange girl named Reze who works at a local café. After spending some time together, Denji begins to develop feelings for her. However, Reze’s true intentions have little to do with romance.
While Ryu Nakayama (Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale) served as director for the Chainsaw Man anime series, Reze Arc is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara (Monster Musume: Everyday Life With Monster Girls). Hiroshi Seko reprises his role as script and composition writer from the Chainsaw Man TV series. Kazutaka Sugiyama serves as Reze Arc‘s character designer and chief animation director. Yusuke Takeda, who is also known for his work on Berserk: The Golden Age Arc and Sword Art Online, is the film’s art director. Chainsaw Man composer Kensuke Ushio returns to create the music for the new film.
Chainsaw Man: The Movie: Reze Arc will debut in the U.S. on Oct. 24. In the meantime, the Chainsaw Man anime series is available to stream on Crunchyroll and Hulu. The Chainsaw Man manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto is available in English from VIZ Media.
