Bunta Kinami Launches New Manga Losing Succubus Lilia in October
Manga creator Bunta Kinami is launching a new series in the next issue of Kadokawa’s Monthly Comp Ace magazine, which ships on October 24. The new manga is titled Make Succu Lilia no Biminaru Yoru, with an English title of Losing Succubus Lilia’s Delicious Night.
Kadokawa describes it as an immoral food manga following a university student who crosses paths with a succubus. The combination of supernatural romance and food as a theme is an unusual pairing, and the series appears to lean into that strangeness as part of its appeal.
Kinami previously created the official RWBY manga, which launched on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ in December 2018 and ran until June 2020 across three compiled volumes. Viz Media made the series available to English readers both through its digital Shonen Jump subscription and in print. More recently, Kinami ran Alice san Chi no Iroribata in Ultra Jump from October 2020 through March 2023. That series ran to four volumes and received a live-action adaptation earlier this year.
My take: An immoral food manga involving a succubus is a pitch that is hard to ignore. Kinami has shown real range as a creator and it will be fun to see where this one goes.
