Bleach Arcs in Order: The Complete Story Guide
Bleach ran for 686 chapters and its anime split the story across two eras, so the arc order matters for knowing where you are. Here is the full map from Ichigo’s first Hollow to Yhwach.
Agent of the Shinigami (chapters 1 to 70)
Ichigo receives Rukia’s powers and spends a school year fighting Hollows in Karakura Town. The arc introduces Chad, Orihime, Uryu and Kon, and ends with Rukia’s arrest.
Soul Society (71 to 183)
The rescue mission and the arc that made Bleach a phenomenon. Every Gotei 13 captain gets introduced, Ichigo learns Bankai in three days, and Aizen’s reveal ends it.
Arrancar (184 to 239) and Hueco Mundo (240 to 315)
Aizen’s Arrancar army arrives, Orihime is taken, and Ichigo invades Hueco Mundo to face the Espada. Ulquiorra and Grimmjow are the standouts.
Fake Karakura Town (316 to 423)
The war against Aizen himself, ending with Ichigo’s Final Getsuga Tensho and the loss of his powers.
Fullbring (424 to 479)
The divisive arc. Ichigo regains his powers through Xcution, and it sets up the finale.
Thousand Year Blood War (480 to 686)
The Quincy invasion led by Yhwach, adapted in the modern anime across four parts ending with The Calamity. This is the arc the original anime never reached.
Quick reference
The original anime covers through Fullbring in 366 episodes. Thousand Year Blood War continues directly after.
My take: Soul Society is the best arc and always will be, but the anime version of Blood War finally gives the series the ending its manga rushed.
