Anyway I’m Falling in Love with You Season 2 Reveals Theme Songs for January 2026
The second season of Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You has confirmed its theme song performers ahead of its January 2026 premiere. Girl idol group ME:I will perform the opening theme “L to R,” while the band berry meet will handle the ending theme “Hatsukoi,” which translates as First Love.
The second season also adds a new cast member. Mayuko Kazama joins as Kuroda, a woman who was a classmate of Shin’s during his university years and has carried feelings for him ever since.
Director Junichi Yamamoto and series script supervisor Yū Murai are both returning from the first season, with production again at Typhoon Graphics. The first season premiered on TBS on January 9 and was streamed internationally by Crunchyroll in a wide range of territories, including North America, Europe, South America, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS. An English dub was also produced.
The anime is based on Haruka Mitsui’s manga, which has been serialized in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine since October 2020. The series has more than 1.25 million copies in circulation. Kodansha USA Publishing handles the English release, with the ninth volume set for December 30. The story centers on Mizuha, who receives an unexpected confession from her childhood friend on the same day she gets turned down by her senpai, and has to figure out what her own feelings actually are.
My take: ME:I on the opening theme is a strong choice for a show that leans into that mix of idol energy and quiet romance. The first season was a genuinely sweet watch, and the addition of a character who has long standing feelings for Shin adds some welcome complexity for the second cour.
