ClariS to Perform at Anime Festival Asia Singapore
Anime Festival Asia announced on Tuesday that the singer trio ClariS will appear as musical guests at its upcoming Singapore convention.
The unit has gone through some changes recently. In January it announced that it had restarted activities with two new members, Elly and Anna. The previous lineup’s Karen graduated late last year, stepping away to pursue another dream of marriage and family, while founding member Clara continues on.
ClariS has long been a beloved name in anime music, having performed theme songs for popular series like Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Oreimo, Nisekoi, and Eromanga Sensei. For years the group was also known for keeping its members’ identities a secret, gradually unmasking over time.
They join a stacked guest lineup for the event that already includes acts like SPYAIR, May’n, Wednesday Campanella, and fhána, among many others.
Anime Festival Asia Singapore runs from November 28 to 30 at the Suntec convention center, as one of the largest anime and Japanese pop culture events held outside Japan.
My take: ClariS songs are woven into so many beloved anime, so they are a perfect fit for a festival like this. It is also nice to see the group enter a fresh chapter while keeping its signature sound.
