SSS Class Revival Hunter Anime Premieres January 2027

Another manhwa giant is coming to anime. SSS Class Revival Hunter will premiere in January 2027, with a teaser visual, first trailer, main cast and staff revealed together. Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream the series internationally.

The hunter who levels up by dying

Kim Gongja starts as an F rank Hunter, the bottom of a tower climbing society, until he obtains an S plus rank copy skill that activates whenever he dies. Every death lets him copy a power from whoever killed him, which turns the story into something closer to a time loop revenge tale than a standard power fantasy. After witnessing a scandal involving the Flame Emperor, the highest ranked Hunter, Gongja’s rise begins in earnest.

Takeo Otsuka voices Gongja, with Satoshi Hino as the Sword Emperor, and the trailer suggests a production aiming for the Solo Leveling crowd while keeping the story’s darker, more sardonic edge.

The manhwa pipeline is now the main event

Between Solo Leveling, Overgeared, Tomb Raider King and now SSS Class Revival Hunter, Korean webtoons have become one of anime’s most reliable sources of hits. January 2027 adds one of the biggest names still unadapted. The announcement was reported by Anime Corner.

My take: SSS Class is smarter and meaner than most of its genre, and the copy on death gimmick is a genuinely great engine. This could be the next Solo Leveling if the studio respects the material.
