Boruto Two Blue Vortex 37 Spoilers: Sarada Leaves a Clue
Boruto Two Blue Vortex 37 is out, and it is the strangest rescue setup this series has attempted. Sarada is a hostage, Code is arguing with his own side about whether to kill her, and the thing standing between her and death is a man buying cat books.
The chapter is titled Trust, and it landed on Friday September 18, 2026 in the November issue of V Jump, ending the one month break. Here is everything that happens.

Boruto Two Blue Vortex 37: Boruto loses the argument

Boruto’s plan collapsed last chapter. He had given Sarada a tracking marker so he could jump to her with Flying Raijin and take Code and Hidari together. Code worked it out and took the marker instead.
So Boruto opens 37 demanding a second route. He insists he is calm. He is very obviously not calm.

Kashin Koji tells him to come back to base and rethink it. Boruto refuses to move on until he hears a way to save her.
Then Koji does something colder. He has Inojin cut the transmission.
Why Koji cut him off

The reason is Momoshiki. Koji has seen a future where Momoshiki causes enormous destruction, and Momoshiki hears everything Boruto hears. Therefore anything Koji says to Boruto goes straight to the Otsutsuki riding in his head.
The chapter also spells out how Koji’s foresight actually works. It is not on demand. Visions of new permutations arrive irregularly and forcibly, and he calls them updates.

Inojin presses him on what exactly happens if Momoshiki takes over. Koji has no specifics. He only says it would be a terrible future, and that Boruto must be kept away from the enemy base whatever it costs.
Boruto Two Blue Vortex 37: Code and Hidari nearly kill the hostage

At the hideout, Code drags Sarada in by the head and asks where Jura is. Hidari, reading as usual, says Jura went out.
Code is pleased with himself. He has brought Jura a gift: the person Boruto cares about most, who also happens to be Sasuke’s daughter. Keep her alive, he argues, and Boruto walks in on his own.
Hidari hears the name Sarada and something in him snaps. He lights up a Chidori and goes for her.

Code blocks it with his claw arm and takes the shock through it. Then he throws Sarada clear and kicks Hidari in the stomach.
So the villains spend the middle of the chapter fighting each other over whether to murder their own bargaining chip. Sarada, lying there listening, works out exactly what that means. There is no unity here, Jura is absent, and she might be able to take both of them.
Jura is buying cat books
Meanwhile the strongest thing in Boruto Two Blue Vortex 37 is in Konoha, shopping.
Jura is picking out cat books for Hidari, because he wants Hidari to feel better. The shopkeeper suggests he bring his friend to the cat cafe sometime, and Jura turns that word over in his head. Friend. He has never had one.

That is why Code cannot simply kill Hidari, however much he wants to.
Sarada leaves a message in Boruto Two Blue Vortex 37

Back at the kidnapping site, Boruto spots blood on the ground, then finds one of Sarada’s Uchiha earrings.
She had activated her Mangekyo Sharingan and used Ohirume before Code took her, and she dropped the earring on purpose. Boruto can feel her chakra on it. Eida works out the same thing and finds the whole thing adorable.

The chapter is blunt about what that cost her. Sarada made a split second decision to put the mission ahead of her own safety, and took a claw wound doing it.

Eida also confirms Sarada is alive and at the hideout, which is the only good news anybody gets.
The plan, and the shopkeeper holding it together
Boruto moves to Flying Raijin straight to her. Koji’s toad stops him, because there is a better window. Jura is still in Konoha, so the hideout is short one god.
Shikamaru, the Eighth Hokage, uses a mind transmission jutsu to give the bookshop owner one job. Keep Jura talking. Act natural.

He will not tell the man what the mission is. He only says that the future of all humankind, not just Konoha, hinges on it. A shopkeeper is now the load bearing element of the entire rescue.

The ending nobody saw coming: Shikamaru is accused
And then the chapter turns on him.

Lord Kobu contacts Shikamaru mid operation. He has been running an investigation, and he now has testimony. Someone has come forward with what he calls definitive evidence of wrongdoing by Nara Shikamaru.
The witness is Nishi. Kobu summons the Hokage to answer for it in front of the higher ups.
So the man running the rescue, mind linked to a bookseller, holding the village together, has just been formally accused of treason. Chapter 37 ends there.
When is Boruto Two Blue Vortex 38?
Chapter 38 arrives on Tuesday October 20, 2026, according to the final page of the December issue of V Jump. Sneak peek pages are expected on October 14 and October 18.
Boruto Two Blue Vortex runs monthly in V Jump rather than weekly, so that gap is normal rather than another break.
You can read it in English on Viz Media and the Shonen Jump app.
Catch up first
Our earlier Boruto Two Blue Vortex 37 release date guide covers chapter 36 and the break that led here.
My take: Kishimoto and Ikemoto keep doing this thing where the scariest character in the series is also the saddest. Jura could level Konoha. Instead he is in a shop choosing a book about cats for the one person who talks to him, and a terrified bookseller has been ordered to keep him there. The rescue works only if nobody makes that lonely god feel unwelcome. That is a wild sentence to write about a Naruto sequel, and I am completely here for it.
