Kagurabachi 127: The Manga Returns With Subaru’s Fire
Kagurabachi is back. The breakout Weekly Shonen Jump hit went quiet for a short summer break, and now the wait is over. Chapter 127 returns the series on August 2, 2026. Naturally, fans have been hunting for recaps to jog their memory. So here is what happens in the comeback chapter, plus a quick catch up on why it paused.

Why Kagurabachi went on hiatus
The break was not dramatic. Shueisha announced in June that creator Takeru Hokazono needed time to rest. Above all, the goal was to keep him healthy so he could hold his pace. Therefore, the series stepped away for a few weeks. Now it returns with a chapter that fans are already calling worth the wait.

Kagurabachi 127 explained
The chapter opens in the past. First, we return to a flashback about Kunishige Rokuhira and the man who killed his father. That man toys with his swords like a maniac, and he ends up hurting Chiaki. Then Shiba steps in and beats him back. In that moment, Kunishige realizes something simple. He does not care about risking his life for the people he loves, and Chiaki is the reason why.
After that, we cut to the present. Kunishige is forging the enchanted blades at the furnace, fully locked in. Once, his peers doubted him and laughed at his craft. Now, however, he is a true genius of the forge. Meanwhile, enemies are trying to break in and stop him.

That is where his ally shines. An opponent seals a curse on Shiba, which leaves him powerless at the worst possible time. So Subaru Urita steps up instead. His plan is simple but heroic: hold off every infiltrator for as long as it takes, so Kunishige can keep forging. As he puts it, the fire is not going out. It is a standout hero beat, and the writing sells it.

My take: This is a great chapter to come back on, because it plays to everything Kagurabachi does well. The forge is not just set dressing here. It is the emotional core, tying Kunishige’s craft to the people he loves. Subaru holding the line so the fire stays lit is exactly the kind of quiet, loyal heroism this series nails. I am glad Hokazono took the rest, too, since a healthy creator is how we keep getting chapters this sharp. Now bring on 128.
