One Piece Chapter 1187 Spoilers: Sanji’s Conqueror’s Haki
One Piece Chapter 1187 lands this Sunday, and the early spoilers say it is a monster of a chapter. Luffy answers Imu with Gear 5, Shuri’s true father stands revealed, and Sanji finally hears the words fans have waited years for: Conqueror’s Haki. Here is everything we know before the official release, including where the story left off.
One Piece Chapter 1185 recap
Chapter 1185 told us how Brook’s life changed in Esperia. Reuven and Candelle saved him from corrupt Marines and gave him something he had not felt in a long time, a home. Brook being Brook, he spent his days singing melodies, teaching manners and being shameless around the ladies of the court. In the present timeline he still calls Candelle the Sun of the Kingdom.

Then a Celestial Dragon visited, and everything soured. Candelle ended up bedridden, Reuven was crowned king and married her, and the once prosperous country found itself drowning in debt to the World Government. Reuven stood his ground to protect Esperia, and the World Government made the country pay for it. By the end of the chapter Candelle is dead, and a possessed Shuri kills her own father while Saint Marcus Mars watches it all unfold like theater.

One Piece Chapter 1186 recap
Chapter 1186, titled One More Time, hits even harder. Shuri looks Brook dead in the eye and tells him Reuven is gone. Her demonic form comes from Imu’s power, but the truth she reveals cuts deeper than any blade: she was never Reuven’s daughter at all. She is the child of a Holy Knight named Manmayer Growlo, which makes her a Celestial Dragon by blood.

The World Government never wanted some grand sacrifice from Esperia. They wanted Shuri. Reuven refused to hand over his daughter, and that choice cost his kingdom everything. Shuri, furious that her youth was spent in the dark, stabs Brook through the head and walks away. The Straw Hats rally around their musician as he begs for her to be saved.
And then the moment everyone is talking about: Luffy jumps into the battle on Elbaf and plants a Haki loaded punch straight into Imu’s face. Imu spits blood. For the first time since this being appeared in the story, Imu looks mortal.

One Piece Chapter 1187 spoilers and raw scans
Early raw scans are already making the rounds on X, YouTube and Instagram. Everything below comes from those leaks, so treat it as unconfirmed until Sunday, and as a full spoiler either way.
Imu answers Luffy’s punch with a proper show of demonic power, launching a counterattack at both Luffy and Loki. Loki gets trapped in unbreakable ice and barely muscles out with his hammer, only for a talking flame to appear on his chest. A massive energy blade then pierces that exact spot. The leaks name this power Stigma, the demonic sword.

Elsewhere Zoro squares up with Sommers while Sanji takes a beating from Killingham. Mid fight, Sanji remembers Gaban telling him he has the potential for Conqueror’s Haki, and that he would need to become a king himself to reach it. If his mission is helping Luffy become the Pirate King, that power is not optional. One widely shared leak post on X captures the moment fans have been dreaming about.

The ending is the real earthquake. Gear 5 joins the battle as Luffy enters Nika mode on Elbaf, and Imu greets him with the line fans will argue about all week: so you have finally appeared, Joy Boy. Luffy’s answer is pure Luffy. He is Monkey D Luffy, the man who will become King of the Pirates. Chapter 1188 opens with Luffy against Imu on Elbaf, and we will cover it right here.

My take: Sanji fans have eaten well this decade, but this is the full course. The Gaban flashback makes Conqueror’s Haki feel earned instead of gifted, and that is the difference between fan service and storytelling. My only worry is pacing. Oda has opened three fights at once, and somebody’s payoff is getting pushed to August.
