Raiden Fighters Remix Collection Brings All Three Classics to Consoles February 26
Game developer Moss has announced Raiden Fighters Remix Collection, a compilation of all three games in the Raiden Fighters series launching on February 26 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. The collection includes Raiden Fighters, Raiden Fighters 2, and Raiden Fighters Jet.
The collection adds several new features including a practice mode, a custom play mode, new music, and additional quality of life options. The original Raiden Fighters launched in arcades in 1996, developed by Seibu Kaihatsu. A sequel followed a year later, and Raiden Fighters Jet completed the trilogy the year after that.
The announcement continues a run of Raiden series releases in recent years. Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX launched across multiple platforms in June 2023, and Raiden IV x MIKADO remix followed in January 2025 published by NIS America. Moss appears committed to making the full history of the franchise available on modern hardware.
My take: The Raiden Fighters games occupy a special place in the shoot-em-up genre. They are faster and more character-driven than the main Raiden series and have a passionate fanbase that has waited a long time for an accessible modern release. Practice mode being included is a thoughtful addition for players who want to learn the games properly before diving into score runs.
