Jack of All Trades Kicked Out Anime Reveals Cast Opening Theme and Visual
The anime adaptation of The Jack of All Trades Was Kicked Out of the Hero’s Party has unveiled its main promotional video, a new key visual, and additional cast members. The series will debut in January 2026, with hololive VTuber Tokoyami Towa performing the opening theme song “Sylve.”
Six new cast members have been announced: Yō Taichi as Logan Hayward, Manaka Iwami as Caroline Inglaud, Yoshiki Nakajima as Oliver Kadiff, Masumi Tazawa as Luna Flockheart, Sayumi Watabe as Annery Wiles, and Kō Bonkobara as Derrick Mosely. Name romanizations are not yet confirmed.
Hiroyuki Kanbe is directing the anime at animation studio42. Masashi Suzuki is overseeing the series scripts, Naoto Nakamura is designing the characters, and Tsubasa Handa is composing the music.
The story follows Orn, a swordsman who gave up his original class and became a mage in order to support his party. Despite developing his own unique style of magic, his childhood friend Oliver, the party’s leader, eventually kicks him out for being a jack of all trades with no specialization. Dismissed and mocked by the people he fought alongside, Orn sets out on his own as a solo explorer, and his story takes an unexpected turn from there.
My take: The setup of someone being cast aside for being too versatile rather than specialized is a quietly interesting inversion of the usual fantasy party drama. Tokoyami Towa doing the opening theme is a fun crossover for fans of both anime and VTuber content.
