Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami is one of the best-selling new-age shonen manga. It has managed to top the charts in every category, even the anime world. After the manga ended in August 2024, the fans of Gege have been waiting for an announcement.
The Otakus were disappointed with the ending of the original manga. The same Otakus went crazy after finding out their favourite creator is cooking a manga for the shonen.
Gege Akutami announced Jujutsu Kaisen 3 Modulo and also ‘Mojuro’ in Japanese. It’s a short-term sequel spin-off manga to just strengthen the original more!
Gege Akutami is the writer for JJK Mojuro, and it is drawn by Yuji Iwasaki (Cipher Academy). We got aliens in JJK before GTA 5! Now, let’s jump more into this new world of Aliens vs Sorcerers.

Yuji Iwasaki has done justice to Gege Akutami’s sequel, there was a reason he chose someone called ‘Yuji’ right?
Gege Akutami said the New Manga will only have 3 volumes worth of story, that’s all he can give us right now and then he wants to escape on a vacation.

How is Jujutsu Kaisen Mojuro connected to JJK Original?
The title of the manga speaks for itself Mojuro is 100% a sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen. It’s set in the same universe as the original.
The Otakus say it’s similar to Boruto: The Next Generations, it’s a sequel to a giant and also has a similar concept of aliens. Gege Akutami has always been inclined toward Yuta Okkotsu despite Yuji being the main MC. We also saw a glimpse of Yuta’s infamous ring and him playing with Yuuka in the teaser released by Crunchyroll.
But some JJK fans have no idea that Yuta was supposed to be the original protagonist of the jujutsu kaisen manga.
The two main characters introduced in JJK Modulo are the grandchildren of Maki Zenin and Yuta Okkotsu! Yes, they got hitched.

What is the Timeline of JJK Modulo?
The Jujutsu Kaisen universe was in 2018 where our cutie trip Megumi, Nobara and Yuji were a bunch of powerful teenagers taking on the King of Curses. Jujutsu Kaisen 3: Modulo takes place 7 decades after the original.
In the cover page of Mojuro you can see that it’s set in the year 2086. That’s a huge leap into the future for the World of Sorcery.
Who are the Characters in JJK Mojuro?
The main characters of Jujutsu Kaisen 3: Modulo are Okkotsu Yuuka and Okkotsu Tsurugi. They are the grandchildren of Maki Zenin and Yuta Okkotsu, imagine having the genes of both the Gojo Clan and Zenin Clan.
Yuuka has zero cursed energy just like Toji Fushiguro and Maki Zenin, and Tsurugi has strong cursed energy like her father Yuta. She wants to become stronger to acquire her dad’s ring!
To complete the concept of the shonen trio, we have ‘Maru’ an alien from outer space who also helps the Okkotsu siblings by transferring his cursed energy. He looks like a happy version of Sukuna and has a bandaid on his forehead. Maybe he’s hiding a third eye?
We also spotted some alien beings in a spaceship, right outside planet Earth.
The character sitting on the throne has huge horns, the other a third eye on his forehead and markings like Sukuna and someone besides him who looks like Tengen!
Jujutsu World goes intergalactic!
Yes, Jujutsu Kaisen has entered space, the story’s sequel now has aliens. The concept of aliens was always fascinating to Gege Akutami, that’s why in the 2025 Jump Festa he teased us with the sequel to his magnum opus.
We see Maru enter the planet and also help out Yuta and Maki’s grandkids. He seems like a good guy, but we don’t know his motive for landing on Earth. He is part of the trio for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
We also spotted a guy with Sukuna-esque marks, a third eye, and big horns sitting on a throne. There are other beings standing in front of him, not very visible though. This guy looks like a real problem and someone who might be related to Maru.
We can’t wait to see more characters in the coming chapters of JJK Mojuro. The manga is said to be only 3 volumes, hopefully the story ends well with this one, as JJK fans are way too tough to impress.
Yuji Itadori and Co. Still alive in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo?
It’s no surprise that the fans are eager to know whether Yuji, Megumi, Nobara and other curse users are alive. After the brutal death of Satoru Goju the JJK Fandom was left in splits, and it led to a huge hate train towards the creator.
We can expect Yuji to be alive, but he will be an old man waiting to be taken away. The poor kid witnessed his close ones being taken away during his teenage years. There’s nothing more brutal than that. Not even death itself. In the first chapter of JJK Modulo. Then we see Yuji and Gojo being hailed as GOATS! For how they put a stop to the Culling Game and saved society.
The first chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Mojuro indicated that both Yuta and Maki have passed away by old age.
But they haven’t said anything about Yuji-san, so we can wait and expect an old man Yuji comeback! Gege Akutami is one of the most unpredictable mangaka!
An overpowered old man going against aliens would be a feast for the eyes. Something Netero or Master Roshi-esque!

We hope that the Jujutsu Kaisen spin-off manga will top the charts for all the chapters. The creator is giving us his best. But it’s a short ride because there will be only 3 volumes. We hope to see the OG characters show up in some form in this new JJK Mojuro.
