Dandadan Season 3: What the Manga Tells Us to Expect
Dandadan season 3 is confirmed, and fans are already wondering how the manga will shape it. The anime, made by Science Saru and streaming on Netflix, became one of the standout titles of 2025, carried by its blend of science fiction, supernatural fights and comedy. Season 2 closed on a big cliffhanger, leaving plenty of story still to tell.
The manga, written and drawn by Yukinobu Tatsu for Shueisha’s Jump+, is where the answers lie. Reports suggest season 3 will take on the “Space Globalists” arc, which brings in a powerful new group of aliens. That run follows Momo, Okarun, Jiji and Aira as fresh threats test both their strength and their friendship.
The path so far has been steady. Season 1 covered the early arcs, including Turbo Granny and Acrobatic Silky, while season 2 leaned into Jiji’s Evil Eye possession story and ended with a huge extraterrestrial showdown. Season 3 looks set to pick up right where that left off and stay close to the source.
Timing is the one open question. Science Saru has a full slate, with Sanda due late in 2025 and a Ghost in the Shell project lined up for 2026, yet Dandadan’s popularity should keep it near the front of the queue. If the studio holds its usual rhythm, season 3 will likely run twelve episodes like the seasons before it, with the Japanese and English casts expected to return.
For viewers, that points to more of what already works: sharp battles, sudden emotional turns and the same wild humor, all driven straight by the manga rather than filler. The Space Globalists arc promises bigger fights, new enemies and more room for Momo and Okarun’s bond to grow. When it arrives, it is expected to stream on both Netflix and Crunchyroll.
My take: What keeps me coming back to Dandadan is how it swings from goofy to heartfelt without missing a beat. If season 3 keeps trusting the manga, I think it will be in very good hands.
