MomoCon 2026 Will Host the US Debut of Japan’s Wonder Festival
Atlanta’s MomoCon convention has announced it will host the United States debut of Wonder Festival, Japan’s premier event for figures, models, and garage kits. The collaboration will take place at MomoCon 2026, running May 21 through 24 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
Wonder Festival will have a dedicated pavilion of roughly 50,000 to 100,000 square feet within MomoCon’s exhibit hall. The space will feature exhibitions from international figure and model manufacturers, sales and shows from independent creators, collectibles, and additional exhibits.
Wonder Festival has been held in Japan twice a year since 1985 and is one of the most important events in the anime figure and collectibles world. It regularly features exclusive product reveals and first looks at upcoming releases from both major companies and indie garage kit creators. Bringing a version of the event to Atlanta is a significant step toward giving North American collectors access to that experience without an international trip.
My take: This is genuinely big news for figure collectors in North America. Wonder Festival is where a lot of the most exciting collectible announcements happen and having a proper dedicated pavilion at MomoCon means fans on this side of the Pacific get a real taste of that culture. May 2026 in Atlanta just became a much more compelling destination.
