Deku’s Voice Actor Has Compared Dubbing The Anime to An Actual Battle
The extremely talented voice actor Daiki Yamashita has compared production on My Hero Academia’s final season to an actual battle. Every actor definitely did their best to go all out and give the most amazing performances possible. This claim is completely understandable given anime’s push into the mainstream and competition from other prominent voice actors like Sean Schemmel. Schemmel has notably passed out several times while giving his most impactful performances, like Goku’s Super Saiyan 4 transformation in Dragon Ball DAIMA.
“The final season’s production is so intense it feels like a real battle with actors going so hard they nearly pass out,” Yamashita said during Anime Expo 2025
Although Deku is likely Daiki Yamashita’s most popular role, he has also had several notable parts in amazing anime like Pokemon Journeys, Hell’s Paradise, and Ranking of Kings. He is one of the most integral voice actors of the modern day and has been one of the biggest factors in bringing Deku to life. Given the incredible strain voice acting can have on the actors, it isn’t surprising that Daiki would compare the entire ordeal to a very real battle. Especially since many of his costars nearly passed out while giving their performances.
So far, the final season of the breathtaking anime has been extremely well received. Although the season has only released a few episodes, many are already calling it an incredible send-off. The incredible anime has been running since 2018, which isn’t long compared to some classic titles, but feels like an eternity for modern series. For this reason, many consider My Hero Academia the quintessential anime of the entire decade. The voice actors have seen this hype and have done their best to give fans what they have been anticipating.
Overall, the final season of My Hero Academia could end up being the best one the series has had. Moreover, the voice actors are clearly pulling out all the stops and giving the best performances possible. However, the voice actor for Deku has compared the experience to an actual real-life battle. That said, the actor also looks back on the experience extremely fondly. Thankfully, his passion and dedication have clearly come through in the final season.
