The Demon King’s Daughter Is Too Kind Anime Sets January 2026
Comedy fans have a premiere date to circle. The official site for the television anime of Yūya Sakamoto’s manga The Demon King’s Daughter Is Too Kind!! announced on Monday that the series will arrive in January 2026, and it shared three character trailers spotlighting Dou, Jahy, and Ahriman.
The story is a gentle little twist on demon lord tales. It follows Dou, the sweet natured daughter of the once merciless demon lord Ahriman, who has set aside his life of conquest to raise her. Ahriman and his loyal aide Jahy keep trying to mold Dou into a proper, wicked demon, but she just keeps melting the hearts of monsters, demons, and humans alike.
The anime is in experienced hands. Masahiko Ōta is directing at EMT Squared with Takashi Aoshima overseeing the scripts, a duo with a long history of working together on lighthearted comedies. Shigeru Chiba narrates, Yūki Nakano designs the characters, and Yasuhiro Misawa composes the music.
Sakamoto first launched the manga on Hakusensha’s Manga Park app in May 2019, and it now runs on the publisher’s Young Animal Web site. The series reached its sixth collected volume in June.
My take: A softhearted demon kid disappointing her evil dad at every turn is such a warm, funny premise. With this directing team’s comedy track record, I have a good feeling this one will be an easy watch come winter.
