XSEED Halts Pre Orders for Corpse Party Tetralogy Pack
XSEED Games announced on Friday that it has hit an unanticipated complication with its planned release of the Corpse Party Tetralogy Pack, a collection from MAGES. The issue could stop the collection from coming to Nintendo Switch in the Americas, so the company has paused physical pre orders as a precaution.
XSEED had announced the Americas release for 2025 back in August. Marvelous Europe is handling the collection in Europe and has not shared any update on its own plans so far.
The Tetralogy Pack already launched in Japan on August 7. It gathers four entries in the horror series: the original Corpse Party, Book of Shadows, Sweet Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Bash, and Blood Drive.
There has been movement elsewhere in the franchise too. MAGES. recently pushed the global release of the sequel Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion from 2025 into 2026 to keep polishing it, and added a PlayStation 5 version to the lineup alongside Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC.
The series has a long history of remakes and ports stretching back to the original game, so longtime fans will be hoping this latest snag gets resolved and the collection still finds its way west.
My take: Last minute holdups like this are frustrating, especially for collectors who had already placed orders. I hope XSEED can sort it out, because the Corpse Party games deserve to stay easy to find.
