Seven Seas Adds Five New Manga and Light Novel Licenses
Seven Seas announced another round of licenses on Wednesday, spanning light novels, manga, and audiobooks. As usual, it is a varied mix, from eerie thrillers to fantasy romance.
Leading the list is the light novel The Neverending Winter, the Land of Broken Dreams, from Mei Hachimoku, the author of The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbye. It opens with a group of friends visiting an old theme park for a winter day trip, until the outing takes a dark and sudden turn that sets a haunting mystery in motion. It is due in September 2026 under the Airship imprint.
Romance fans are well served too. The Obsessed Mage and His Beloved Statue Bride is arriving as both a manga and an audiobook, while The Too Perfect Saint, a story of a saint cast aside by her fiance and sent to another kingdom, gets an audiobook release of its own.
There is fantasy adventure on the way as well with the light novel series Reborn as an Assassin’s Apprentice, about a new life learning a deadly trade.
Rounding things out is the manga The Oblivious Girl and the Maidenly Man, adding a gentler, character driven option to the lineup.
My take: The Neverending Winter is the one that really grabs me, since Mei Hachimoku writes such bittersweet, atmospheric stories. It is always nice to see a batch this varied, because there is something here for almost any mood.
