Super Psychic Policeman Chojo Manga Gets a 2026 Anime
The short lived buddy cop comedy Super Psychic Policeman Chojo is getting an anime adaptation, set to premiere in 2026.
The original manga had a fairly brief run, appearing in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2024 to June 2025 and reaching eight collected volumes.
Its premise is pure fun. A wildly powerful but lazy and self centred psychic police officer is paired with an earnest rookie, and the two solve crimes together in a classic mismatched buddy cop dynamic.
The anime is being produced by Arvo Animation, with Junichi Yamamoto directing, Hayashi Mori handling the scripts, and Masakatsu Sasaki designing the characters.
For readers in English, the series was made available through Viz Media and Shueisha’s official simulpub service, so fans outside Japan could follow it as it ran.
My take: It is always heartening when a series that did not run very long still earns an anime, since it means people saw something special in it. A lazy psychic cop and his straight laced partner sound like a great comedy duo.
