Witch Watch Anime Confirms a Second Season Is in the Works
Good news for comedy fans: the 25th and final episode of Witch Watch closed out on Sunday with the announcement that a second season is now in production. The official website also shared a visual to mark the reveal.
The first season, produced by Bibury Animation Studios, ran from April 6 across 25 episodes. Crunchyroll and Netflix streamed it with subtitles and dubs in several languages including French, German, and Spanish, and GKIDS holds the license.
The series adapts Kenta Shinohara’s supernatural comedy manga, which began in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2021 and has since passed 4 million copies in print.
The manga remains in full swing, with its 24th volume due in December, and Viz Media publishes it in English through its Shonen Jump platform.
Given how warmly the first season was received, a quick confirmation of more to come is exactly what fans were hoping for.
My take: I just praised the first season’s finale, so hearing that more is on the way put a big smile on my face. Witch Watch is reliably funny and charming, and I cannot wait to spend more time with this cast.
