Pokémon Horizons Reveals New Cast and Theme Songs for ‘Rising Again’ Arc
The team behind the Pokémon Horizons anime has revealed new cast members and theme songs for its upcoming arc, titled Rising Again.
On the music side, Eve performs the new opening theme Iolite, while Polkadot Stingray handle the ending theme Netemo Sametemo, which translates to Whether Asleep or Awake.
Three new voices join the cast: Seiran Kobayashi as Lacey, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Drayton, and Shinya Owada as Cyrano. Lacey and Drayton are members of the Blueberry League’s Elite Four, while Cyrano serves as director of Blueberry Academy.
The new arc begins October 31 and takes the characters to Blueberry Academy, a setting originally introduced in The Indigo Disk downloadable content for the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games. Horizons first premiered in April 2023 and has been a fresh chapter for the long running franchise, moving beyond its classic protagonist.
My take: Pulling Blueberry Academy out of the games and into the anime is a clever way to reward players who explored the DLC. Horizons has done a lovely job carving its own identity, and a new arc with fresh faces keeps that momentum going.
