Observation Records of My Fiancée Shares First Screenshots and Leads
Fresh details have arrived for the 2026 anime adaptation of Shiki’s light novel Observation Records of My Fiancée: The Misadventures of a Self-Proclaimed Villainess. The official site released three new screenshots alongside confirmation of its two leads.
Yuusuke Kobayashi voices Cecil, while Miyu Tomita takes on the role of Bertia, the young woman at the heart of the story’s gentle comedy.
The premise is a playful spin on the villainess trend. Bertia is utterly convinced she is the wicked rival from an otome game and throws herself into the role, while her fiancé Cecil watches her antics with quiet, fond amusement, keeping a kind of running log of her misadventures.
On the music side, Yuuki Hayashi leads the composing team. The wider staff was also expanded with this announcement, building toward the show’s premiere next year.
My take: The new screenshots give a first real sense of the show’s bright, soft look, which fits the comedy perfectly. I keep coming back to how charming the premise is, a heroine determined to be the villain and a partner who simply adores watching her try.
