Doraemon Anime Gets First New Ending Theme Song in 20 Years
The staff of the long-running Doraemon TV anime confirmed that the series will receive a new ending theme song with the October 4 episode broadcast in Japan. Tani Yuuki performs the new ending theme song “Moshi Monogatari,” which will be the anime’s first new ending theme since 2005.
Tani Yuuki (pictured below) was asked about the new ending theme song, noting that he grew up watching Doraemon and wanted to convey as much as he could about the series with his music. He hops “Moshi Monogatari” conveys a message of inspiration to children, even if they hit a setback in life.
The next new Doraemon film will premiere in 2026 with the title Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil (Eiga Doraemon: Shin Nobita no Kaitei Kiganjō). The film is a remake of the classic 1983 film Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil.
Tetsuo Yajima returns after directing episodes of the Doraemon TV anime series and contributing to Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s New Great Adventure into the Underworld, Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the Steel Troops: The New Age, and Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Chikyū Symphony. Isao Murayama wrote the new film’s screenplay.
Fans can also look forward to Doraemon Comic Traveler, a new online Doraemon browser RPG coming to the company’s G123 platform. Players can pre-register by heading to G123 or following the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. At 30,000 pre-registrations, players will earn 1,000 Gems at launch. At 50,000 pre-registrations, players earn an additional 1,000 Gems and two Gold Keys. 100,000 pre-registrations awards another 1,000 Gems, two more Gold Keys, and two Legendary Keys.
