MUZIK TIGER In the Forest Season 2 Premieres October 1
MUZIK TIGER In the Forest is coming back for more. The official site for the short anime, based on Daewon Media’s MUZIK TIGER characters, announced on Friday that a second season will premiere on Tokyo MX on October 1, with a new promotional video revealing extra cast members.
Much of the first season’s team returns. Among the voice cast are Ai Kakuma as Taffee, Aoi Koga as Willy, Hikaru Tono as Porumee, Kotaro Nishiyama as Teeffee, and Rie Takahashi as Toffee. The first season debuted on April 2 and ran as 30 short episodes of about one minute each.
Behind the scenes, Kazunori Minagawa and Miki Minagawa direct at TOHO animation STUDIO and also handle the animation, with scripts by Toshizo Nemoto, music by Hiroaki Tsutsumi, and sound direction by Kazuki Kuwahara. Shinei Animation and Daewon Media are producing, with STUDIO MUZIK credited for the original work.
The series is a gentle one. In the Muzik Forest, beside a lovely lake, three tigers named Toffee, Teeffee and Taffee share an easygoing life with a mouse called Willy and a moon rabbit named Porumee. With the anime, Daewon Media hopes to carry the franchise beyond its core young fans in South Korea and reach new ages and countries.
My take: Tiny, cozy shows like this are easy to overlook, but they make for the perfect little break in a busy day. A minute of soft forest calm sounds just about right to me.
