My Hero Academia Watch Order With Movies

My Hero Academia is one of the easiest long shonen to watch in order because it has almost no filler, but its four movies and a spinoff create a few questions. Here is the map.

The seasons

Watch seasons one through seven in order, then the Final Season, which adapts the manga’s conclusion. Season 1 is 13 episodes and the rest run 25 each, except season 7 at 21. Every episode is canon apart from a handful of recap episodes at the start of some seasons, which you can skip.

Where the movies go

Two Heroes fits after season 3 episode 58. Heroes Rising fits after season 4. World Heroes’ Mission fits after season 5, during the Endeavor Agency stretch. You’re Next fits after season 7. All four are side stories rather than canon plot, but Heroes Rising is close enough in spirit that Kohei Horikoshi once considered using its ending for the manga.

Vigilantes

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is a prequel spinoff set several years before Deku’s story. It stands alone and can be watched at any point, though it lands best after season 2 once you know the pro heroes it features.

The OVAs

Save Rescue Training, Training of the Dead, Make It! Do or Die Survival Training and the others are light side stories. Optional, harmless, fun.

My take: Watch the seasons straight through and slot Heroes Rising after season 4. It is the one film that feels like it matters.
