Anime Expo may be the year’s loudest weekend, but 2026’s convention calendar is far from finished. Here is where the remaining announcements and crowds are headed.

Otakon carries the late summer slot in Washington DC, with a guest roster that has been growing all July and a reputation as the East Coast’s essential fan gathering. Anime NYC anchors the fall for the American scene, having grown into a genuine announcement venue where studios now save real news. Crunchyroll Expo events and regional shows fill the gaps, and Japan closes the year with Jump Festa in December, the single densest announcement weekend in anime, where next year’s slate traditionally takes shape.
The convention economy has fully recovered into its biggest era ever, and studios treat each stop as a stage. If Anime Expo set 2026’s agenda, Jump Festa will set 2027’s.
