Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 2 Waits Until 2027
Anyone hoping to see Demon Slayer back in theaters this year can stand down. Infinity Castle Part 2 will not release in 2026, with studio Ufotable placing the sequel among its future projects and pointing to 2027 at the earliest. The final film in the trilogy is currently planned for 2029.
The long road through the Infinity Castle
The first Infinity Castle film was a global box office monster, which makes the quiet on Part 2 feel strange from the outside. But the reality of Ufotable’s pipeline is that this studio animates everything in house and refuses to farm out its action scenes, and that choice is exactly why the fights look the way they do. Nothing about that process is fast.
Neither Ufotable, Aniplex nor Crunchyroll has confirmed a specific date for Part 2 or Part 3, so 2027 remains an educated window rather than a promise. The story ahead, including the fights fans have waited years to see animated, is the biggest material in the entire series.
Some perspective helps the wait. The first Infinity Castle film became one of the biggest anime films ever released, breaking records in multiple countries, and the manga has been complete since 2020, so the destination is fixed and beloved. Ufotable is adapting the final battles of a finished story with effectively unlimited goodwill behind it. The only thing that could damage this trilogy now is haste, and the studio clearly knows it.
